Job Description
Lex Products has an opening for a Warehouse Supervisor in our Shelton, CT facility.  The Warehouse Supervisor leads the Warehouse/Shipping/Receiving team in a manner that optimizes their efficiency and accuracy.       
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Complete warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Lead, supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities and warehouse team towards company and departmental goals.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and foster an environment of teamwork. 
  • Encourage consistency of methods and performance within the group to enable team members to contribute as effectively as possible within their individual “product teams” and overall within Lex.
  • Oversee physical and electronic inventory transactions throughout the organization; including, incoming materials, picking and kitting parts, and transferring material between facilities and non-Lex addresses.
  • Ensure items are consigned accurately and safely.
  • Achieve and maintain accurate raw material and finished goods inventories at 98% or more.
  • Maintain cycle count process to monitor inventory accuracy
  • Participate in job safety analysis, accident and near miss investigations.
  • Set warehouse security standards to achieve and maintain a safe and theft free environment.
  • Achieve financial objectives by adhering to department budget goals. 
  • Utilize Lean tools including Kaizen and 5S to enhance work processes.
  • Lead and manage continuous improvements regarding safety, quality, productivity, and cost reductions.
  • Establish, monitor and meet metrics and present update reports to Director of Supply Chain.
  • Maintain positive employee relations and foster an environment of teamwork. 
  • Establish and maintain weekly RAP meetings with Team Leads and Coordinators to implement improvements in methods, systems and communications to support and achieve goals and objectives.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required but do not constitute the complete list of everything that may help one be successful in this role.
  • 4 Year related college degree and/or the equivalent from hands on employee management experience.
  • 2 plus years’ experience in supervising material and warehouse workers, planning work schedules and handling employee relations issues.
  • Must have manufacturing experience; a working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including Kaizen and 5S is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of inventory control procedures – cycle counts, maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
  • Should have a proven track record of driving measurable and sustainable improvements within a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to guide and motivate work teams in meeting department and company goals and objectives.
  • Ability to maintain inventory data and quickly investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Team player with demonstrated, effective interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) in English.  Spanish is a plus. 
  • Ability to effectively and accurately maintain electronic date in ERPs and other systems and practiced at using MS Office programs.
  • Experience in meeting customer requests while adapting to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to work with a high level of urgency while keeping the workforce calm and on task.
  • Ability to maintain data to support company production strategies and goals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and find effective solutions to complex and varied workplace issues.
  • Ability to carry out tasks and promote a safe work environment.
  • Effective organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand and walk for a long time in a day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to work extra hours as required.
